New year resolution

Hey. Long time, no post; so let's get into the topic, "New year's resolutions".

Why do people make them? I know it's a goal that they want to attain during the year, but most resolutions don't make it through the first month. Weight loss is the most common resolution. For this goal to be accomplished, people start joining gyms and trying diets. After awhile they give up and go back to the status quo. Why does this happen? It's because they have unrealistic view on how much weight should be lost. I see this personally, where after new year's the gym is packed but by the time February hits the crowd has thinned out. Part of the unrealistic view is caused by "The Biggest Loser". I will talk about that another time.
Another thing that bothers me, is that why do people wait 'til new year's to make a change in themselves? Why can't it be done in the middle of the year? The faster or earlier that you work on that goal, it'll be done sooner. I know that some things can't be done now, like paint the house or gardening but come on, why wait? Start saving money before new year's and you'll have more money when you begin the year. It makes more sense, but ,hey, what do I know?

Anyways, that's my rant for now. Hopefully, be back soon with a new post.
