Nice guys do finish last unless.....

Hello, figured I was on a roll so decided to post more thoughts.

Nice guys don’t win. There is a saying “nice guys finish last” and most of the time that is true. Why is that? It’s because nice guys are nice. People will take advantage of them, although the nice people are” nice”. There is a fine line between nice and being run over. Nice guys are usually polite and loyal. They will be polite to anybody even when the other person is yelling at them, being annoying, moronic, and they are loyal to anyone who has returned the niceness; or even relate to people like themselves. I consider myself a nice guy who has fallen into these categories. I am extremely loyal to my friends and am very polite even when people are yelling at me or annoyed. I try to see their point of view and reason with them without resorting to a screaming match. Other individuals don’t take us nice guys seriously because we are kind, polite, and don’t take shots at them. Being a nice guy is a blessing and a curse, you are a kind human being to everyone but there are people who take advantage of that quality. Examples, talking behind your back about stuff you have done, but they know you won’t do the same. For me, I am tired of people taking advantage of who I am. I am going to fight back with a vengeance and won’t care what they say. This might be a little bit extreme but this is who I am. I am a nice person with qualities that anybody will like. I have friends and family that like me for who I am and vice versa. So, all the nice guys out there, stand up and don't let people take advantage of you.

Thanks. Keep reading and commenting.

Friendship

Hola. Didn't I tell you that there will be a new blog post soon? Let's jump right into it.

I read a fellow blogger's view on friends and it made think about my friends. There is a quote that states friendship "People will always be there when times are good but you will know who your true friends when times are rough". My definition of a friend is someone who will be there through thick and thin, give you advice but also accept it, can count on them at anytime, and at the end of the day understand and respect who you are. I've had people who I thought were my friends that ended up stabbing in the back, but I have had friends who fall under my definition of a "friend". I don't have many of them since I've experienced the former more than the latter. There are few friends that falls under both. I really think quality is better than quantity when it comes to friends; if only I can have both. I am not upset or disappointed in the lack of many friends, but am very lucky to have them in my life. My role as a friend is to listen and give advice but sometimes I wonder who do I turn to when I need someone to listen? I wonder but I know the answer most of the times. I know my friends will always be there for me but do you know if yours will? It's a nice question to ask yourself.

Until later, Khuda Hafiz.

State of Play

State of Play is a political thriller which has outstanding cast. The cast consists of Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Helen Mirren, Jason Bateman and Jeff Daniels. Again, like the previous movie review, check out the synopsis at IMDB. The movie has good writing, better acting, and overall a good flow throughout. I gave it a Solid B grade because I figured out what will happen in the end of the movie; in essence it became predictable. It is a good time pass, again, I would wait for it on DVD but wouldn't blame anyone if they saw in a theater near them.

well...hello

Hey, everyone. I know it's been a long time since I wrote a new entry to my blog. The topics I will like to cover a bunch of topics that include news worthy items.
I want start off by sharing what I've done this past month; which isn't much. I did enjoy downtown Chicago on a cold weekend. We took the train to get there and pretty much walked throughout the downtown. I saw Grant park, Buckingham fountain, Millennium Park, the outside of City Hall, famous Chicago Theater, and plenty of other buildings.

The politics part isn't much but wanted to state the effects of No Child Left Behind act (saw this on ESPN). Basically, it eliminates P.E. and in some cases recess due to funding. I understand that children need to learn the basics but at the same time need to learn how to take care of their bodies. I mean, seriously, our health care system is already taxed. Do we want the children of now and the future have health problems that can be avoided by exercise?

The other topic was The National Tea Party. I was confused because I had no idea that they were doing this. On tax day, having rallies across the nation protesting our taxes and comparing to The Boston Tea Party; the latter part is ridiculous. There are so many things historically wrong to compare it to that, so I won't even start.

My fantasy b-ball team came in 5th. Not a shock since I lost a quarter of my team to injuries. The Cubs and Tigers are off to good starts, can't say the same about the Pistons and Red Wings aren't disappointing. The NFL draft is coming, finally, after all the hype. Can't wait until the commish says "With the 1st pick of the draft the Lions select....".

My next blog will be coming soon. It will have a movie review and a response to a fellow blogger about friends. 'Til then keep reading.
